The Rotary Club of Oban , in line with its
support for a variety of local good causes, recently donated part of the funds
raised at its very successful annual Christmas Carol Concert to Homestart, a
local charity which supports young families encountering problems raising
children under the age of 5.
Homesart offers support, through volunteers,
to young parents throughout North Lorn and Mull who find it difficult to cope
for any number of reasons; illness or disability, post natal problems,
relationship breakdowns, bereavement or financial issues and, indeed, many
other reasons. Oban Rotary, along with its financial support to Oban Young
Carers Initiative- £12,000 over 3 years - regard Homestart as hugely beneficial
to the welfare of the local community.
